†Once more, “land” here is the Hebrew word eretz. I’ll never look at that word the same!

For the last several sessions, we focused on what God is growing in us and on what God is growing through us. Today, we make a vital shift in our Growing Slow journey. Because this journey is not our own. An essential part of the Christian life is to faithfully engage with the people God has placed in our lives—not only in our homes and workplaces, but with the people on the periphery of our lives. They are all there for a reason. And like you, they are all fields being planted by God.

But there’s a good chance that God is going to put some of the seeds in our hands. Do we have the courage to plant those seeds? Are we willing to tell people that they are loved by God, that Christ forgives sins, that there’s a Father in heaven who hears their cries for help in times of trouble?

But how can people call for help if they don’t know who to trust? And how can they know who to trust if they haven’t heard of the One who can be trusted? And how can they hear if nobody tells them? And how is anyone going to tell them, unless someone is sent to do it?

Romans 10:14–15 THE MESSAGE

Yep. We’re going there. We are going to talk about evangelism.

In your opinion, what keeps people from sharing the gospel with others?
